Midway is the fact-based retelling of the post-Pearl Harbor actions of the United States Navy as they struggled to maintain America’s foothold in the Pacific against overwhelming Japanese forces. Some the individuals’ storied depicted in Midway are widely known; some are known within the Navy, specifically, and some are known throughout the entire military.
They all deserve to be remembered and respected.
This weekend, find a veteran and thank them, because their service is invaluable to your freedoms, as this film (like others such as We Were Soldiers, Patton, and Saving Private Ryan) amply shows.
