Birds of Prey:

And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn

If that sounds like a lot of title, it’s because it is a lot of title.

Written by Christina Hodson, directed by Cathy Yan, Birds of Prey stars Margot Robbie as the titular Harley Quinn, along with Rosie Perez, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Ella Jay Basco, and Ewan McGregor.

Here, Harley has finally (and explosively) broken up with Mr. J, and finds herself exposed to retribution from all those underworld elements she wronged, as she is no longer under Joker’s protection.

Got it?

In the absence of Jared Leto’s Joker, we get a new villain: Black Mask, played by Ewan McGregor.

In an intricate plot involving revenge, a diamond, insanity, and laxative jokes, Harley sets out to discover who she is, now that she’s no longer Joker’s girl.

What does she find out?

Listen along and we’ll see what we learn.
