Extra Ordinary

Extra Ordinary is a European production (Ireland, Belgium, Finland, and the UK), with Blinder Films, in association with Umedia, Screen Ireland, Inevitable Pictures, Epic Pictures, Ufund and others.

Synopsis: Rose (Higgins), a mostly sweet and lonely Irish driving instructor, must use her supernatural talents to save the daughter of Martin (Ward), also mostly sweet and lonely, from a washed-up rock star (Forte) who is using her in a Satanic pact to reignite his fame.
I have to tell you, despite it’s rather pedestrian-seeming intro, Extra Ordinary kind of sneaks up on you with its gentle nature and goofy humor.

The synopsis actually does a great job summing this movie up for you. I can tell you the chemistry between Rose and Martin (Higgins and Ward) is great, in a sort of middle-school awkward kind of way, and Forte’s portrayal of washed up one-hit-wonder rocker Christian Winter, definitely deserves to be called out as a joy to watch.

Channeling everything good and sweet and decent (except perhaps for Martin’s wife), Extra Ordinary is one of those films that you just can’t help smiling at as you watch, from the everyday hum-drummery of Rose’s existence to the patently silliness of the rather… unique… method of obtaining ectoplasm for a ritual to save the virgin.

And don’t get me started on the virgin storyline, lol.

Extra Ordinary is available on Amazon. Check it out.
