This horror anthology has 8 directors, and like most anthologies, you will enjoy some of the various segments more than others, which were culled from short competitions or YouTube rather than being put together from the beginning as parts of some overarching whole.

That being said, and without going into excruciating detail on every segment, I’ll just give you a quick overview.

The segments range from 80’s Creepshow-style levels of horror to some stuff that is pretty bloody to a few that have some great ambiance, such as Marta, a Spanish-language piece (unsubbed in my screener) that you really don’t need to speak Spanish to appreciate, despite it’s dialogue-heavy presentation.

The segment dealing with prisoner punishment and victim’s rights was equally disturbing.

The entire collection is framed by what I assume was the only bit of original material, which is Rod the radio host, “telling” the various stories to his late-night listeners, only to wind up being part of his own tale.

Again, your mileage may vary, but overall A Night of Horror: Nightmare Radio isn’t an unpleasant exploration of the genre.

My Grade: C+
