Nocturne
90 Minutes, Not Rated
Written and directed by Zu Quirke
Synopsis:
Inside the halls of an elite arts academy, a timid music student begins to outshine her more accomplished and outgoing twin sister when she discovers a mysterious notebook belonging to a recently deceased classmate.
Nocturne stars Sydney Sweeney, Madison Iseman, Jacques Colimon, and Ivan Shaw.
What begins as an exploration of the competitiveness of a high-pressure arts high school rapidly decends into a supernaturally influenced overturning of the established order of things between two sisters: Juliet and Vivian.
This is a bit like a music-school Suspiria, though perhaps not quite as fully formed in terms of its mythology. But if you enjoyed either version of that film, you’ll find something to like in Nocturne.
Have a listen as Ryan and I discuss it, then let us know what you thought of the film.
Nocturne is available on Amazon Prime Video October 13. You can watch it by clicking the [PAID AD] link below:
