Warner Brothers slipped the premiere of Judas and the Black Messiah onto the final day of the Sundance Film Festival before releasing it to theaters and the HBO Max streaming service.

A timely history lesson for America, Judas and the Black Messiah brings into stark relief the extent to which the struggle for civil rights met and overcame (or failed to overcome) the machinations of those determined to maintain the status quo.

Filled with some great performances, Judas and the Black Messiah is a sure bet to show up in many awards lists.
