Synopsis:

Henry, an agoraphobic and anxious young man living in Los Angeles, hacks into the webcams of various selected young women who inhabit the city. He watches over them in their daily lives, seeing himself as their guardian angel. When his new charming roommate Eric, a Youtuber and struggling actor pushes him to get out into the real world, he unknowingly puts Henry in danger. And as Henry starts to suspect one of the women he watches, Laura, of being a killer, everything starts to spiral out of control.

Yes, one can call this a Rear Window for the 21st century. If one was being generous.

I’ll be honest, though, this movie wasn’t bad. I thought the cast of characters was decent, the performances of the big-3 were solid, and, while the overall premise of the film isn’t necessarily groundbreaking, it was pretty well put together.

My one (main) gripe with the film is the cause of the killings. Without spoiling it, it was a little too…what’s the word I’m looking for, here…meh.

I mean, it felt like an episode of Criminal Minds, and more importantly, the film actually leaves unresolved the (questionable) behavior of one of the characters, whose projected story arc would be kind of interesting to see fleshed out, as it would expand beyond just that character.

However, if you’re looking for a 90-minute thriller time-killer, you could easily do worse than sitting down for Eye Without A Face.

I should know… I have done worse–far worse–than this one.
