Klutz (Short Film) debuted at the Dances With Films Festival in Los Angeles on September 4.

It’s tough to make a short film with solid emotional impact. It’s just a limitation of the genre, that can only be overcome by good writing.

Luckily, Klutz is well-written. A simple depiction of grief and how it can throw off the gravity of someone’s entire life, writer Elizabeth Narciso doesn’t over-preach the subject, which in turn gives director Michelle Bossy the freedom to allow star Malka Wallick the freedom to explore the space in which she finds herself.

It’s a pleasant combination of factors which allows Klutz to shine in a realistic, yet innocent way, and letting us know that eventually, we’ll be okay, even in the face of seemingly endless emotional pain.

Klutz  is currently on the festival circuit, so check out lineups near you. It’s important to get out and support film at all levels, so let’s make sure we continue to get quality content.

Klutz stars Malka Wallick, Mara Kassin, Sanjit De Silva, Florencia Lozano, Angel Desai, Geneva Carr, Geoffrey Owens and Wai Ching Ho.
