Mother/Android – Movie Review
110 Minutes, Rated R
Written and Directed by Mattson Tomlin
Synopsis:
In a post-apocalyptic world rocked by a violent android uprising, a young pregnant woman and her boyfriend desperately search for safety.
I’d seen some chatter about this movie on social media, so I thought I’d check it out. Why?
Well, because I love sci-fi. I love Chloe Grace-Moretz.
Why wouldn’t I want to watch Mother/Android?
Artificial Intelligence run amok. What are their motivations? Are they trying to keep humanity safe from itself (I, Robot) or just giving up on us all together?
A pregnant woman and her boyfriend trying to make it to a “safe” location (Boston), a classic quest trope. Is such a place real?
Is it not? Is it just a kind of wish fulfillment fantasy denial coping mechanism for the human brain?
Well?
The movie isn’t terribly BAD…
