As you know, this year’s Sundance Film Festival is being held virtually due to concerns around covid-19… again.
But that’s a discussion for another time.
Right now, let’s talk about the coverage we are going to be able to give you, which, owing to the methodology used to assign media credentials, means that the Visually Stunning Movie Podcast has access to the equivalent of the “Explorer Pass,” which give us the ability to screen the “immersive projects of New Frontier, serialized storytelling in Indie Episodic, and visionary short films.”
In case you’re wondering, a lot of the New Frontier’s “immersive” stuff is VR based, and would normally be done on-site with provided technology, but if you’ve got access to it virtually and no capable (or any) VR technology…
You get the idea.
Regardless, the Indie Episodic and Short Film segments normally have some great stuff (even in years where we get to watch a ton of Features, as well), and this year is no exception.
With that, let’s have a look at some of the Short Films we’ve watched over the first couple days. In normal years, short films are bundled into Programs containing 7-8 individual films, but since we’ve been able to choose kind of a la carte here, we’ll just start looking at those we’ve watched so far.
Cool?
Then let’s begin.
