The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent – Movie Review
127 Minutes, Rated R
Written and Directed by Tom Gormican
Synopsis:
A cash-strapped Nicolas Cage agrees to make a paid appearance at a billionaire super fan’s birthday party, but is really an informant for the CIA since the billionaire fan is a drug kingpin and gets cast in a Tarantino movie.
(Yes, the synopsis is slightly misleading, lol.
Much has been made of this movie since people first realized it was coming and what it was purported to be.
That being said, I’m not sure anyone really knew what the film was going to be, or how it would turn out. It could have been a complete train-wreck.
But with Nicolas Cage’s involvement, we knew it was going to be something to talk about.
And we were right.
I mean, after Pig, everyone remembered why we all like Nic Cage, right?
Generally speaking, I can say that, as I tweeted shortly after the screening, it’s “truly, majestically, fantasically, FUN.”
And I ain’t lyin’.
Listen as we dive into this one of a kind movie about a one of a kind talent.
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent hits theaters this Friday and stars Pedro Pascal, Tiffany Haddish, Sharon Horgan, Lily Sheen, Alessandra Mastronardi, Ike Barinholtz, and some guy named Nicolas Cage.
