Short films are notoriously tough to review, so let’s just cut to the chase, shall we?

**NOTE: this post may be updated with audio once we actually have the chance to talk about it. Until then, you can read Mark’s review below. Remember, though, you can listen to all our discussions of this and every other movie directly over on ACAST. Stay tuned.**

The Exposed - Review
The Exposed

5 Minutes, Not Rated
Written and Directed by Xenia LeBlanc

Synopsis:

A nurse returns home from a long shift to find herself haunted by a much more malevolent presence than she ever could have imagined.

It’s tough to build tension in (less than) 5 minutes, but director Xenia LeBlanc manages to do it fairly effectively, with the claustrophobic setting doing most of the heavy lifting.

Not to be outdone, though, star Mack Ogden imbues her performance with just enough suppressed terror to flavor the confusion her character feels throughout the uber-short runtime.

An effective short, though one ultimately let down by the mundanity of the final reveal, The Exposed is a worth entry into the Short Film genre.

The Exposed played at Dances With Films and stars Mack Ogden, Zöe Papia, Michael McWhorter (TizzyEnt), and Zach Zarvos.

And remember, if the BEST thing you can say about a movie is that it’s “visually stunning,” then they’ve done something wrong.
