Burn Out (Short)
Review by Mark Woodring
There’s nothing wrong with working had to get ahead, right?
**NOTE: this post may be updated with audio once we actually have the chance to talk about it. Until then, you can read Mark’s review below. Remember, though, you can listen to all our discussions of this and every other movie directly over on ACAST. Stay tuned.**
13 Minutes, Not Rated
Written and Directed by Russell Goldman
Synopsis:
An assistant will do anything to get a presentation in front of his boss – even set himself on fire.
Well, Burn Out shows us what can happen when the drive to excel exceeds one’s physical, mental, and emotional limits.
It’s well-paced, with our Protagonist, Virgil, working feverishly to complete a proposal to pitch to his boss.
As he struggles with exhaustion and strange dreams, we learn, as he does, that success comes with a price not always paid in this world.
An interesting short with an end sure to both intrigue and horrify you, Burn Out will hopefully find a place for audiences to find it.
Burn Out has Jamie Lee Curtis as an Executive Producer and stars Tommie Earl Jenkins and Everett Osborne.
And remember, if the BEST thing you can say about a movie is that it’s “visually stunning,” then they’ve done something wrong.
