Fan Expo Chicago 2025

We here at the Visually Stunning Movie Podcast not only love to watch movies, we also enjoy pop-culture events. We’ve attended comic conventions from our home event (FanX Salt Lake), to the old Wizard convention circuit in places like Las Vegas and Portland, to smaller events in locations like Colorado Springs, and larger events like the Fan Fusion event in Phoenix, Arizona.
We are fans first, and covering these events just feels like an extension of our love for the various source materials.
Coming up in August, I will be attending and covering the Chicago branch of the Fan Expo franchise of events. I’ve attended other Fan Expo events in Denver and Dallas, and their guest line-ups and breadth of the exhibitor floors is always wonderful.
I expect Fan Expo Chicago to be no exception to these previous experience.
If you’re a Star Wars fan, Chicago is proud to welcome Fennic Shand (Ming-Na Wen) from The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, The Stranger (Manny Jacinto), along Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker (Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen).
The Mummy (NOT the Tom Cruise version)? Oded Fehr, John Hannah, Patricia Velasquez, and the great Brendan Fraser himself!
For lovers of the CW’s DC Universe, we’re getting Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes, and Tom Cavanagh.
We’ve got a Colonial Marine reunion from Aliens, some Doctor Who companions, some Guardians of the Galaxy folks (including Michael Rooker, who holds the best panels you will ever attend)…
If sparkly vampires are your thing, they’ve got those, too.
Heck, they’re even hosting a National Lampoon’s Vacation reunion featuring Randy Quaid, Dana Barron, Beverly D’Angelo, and Chevy Chase.
And. That’s. Not. Everyone.
They’ve got comic artists, voice actors, cosplay professionals, authors…
There is literally something or someone for everyone.
What a great weekend.
While I will be attending the event on what a call a “turn and burn” schedule (flying in on Friday morning, out LATE Sunday night, arriving home sometime on Monday, lol), I expect nothing short of a spectacular weekend, surrounded by the things I enjoy and a
