2017 Favorites

As 2017 comes to a close, we thought we’d give a quick shout-out to our favorite films of the last 365 days.

Not the “best” films, the ones that are going to win all the awards and whatnot, but our “favorite” films: the ones that, for whatever reasons, just stuck with us during this past year.

Jason:

“If I had to pick one from 2017 […], I’d have to pick Logan.

To me, it represents a significant step toward superhero movies becoming respected films.”

Check our review of Logan HERE.

Mark:

“For me, my favorite movie of 2017 has to be John Wick: Chapter 2. It was just so complete in terms of world-building (as a continuation of the first film), character development, and forward-looking potential that I found myself comparing everything else to it when I thought about how much I enjoyed any other film this year. Don’t look for any awards for this one, but it’s just so much incredible fun that I can’t put anything over it. For me, it’s 2017’s Deadpool.

Tomorrow brings January, which means we will be starting in on SEASON 3 (!!) of the Visually Stunning Movie Podcast. We hope you all have enjoyed the ride so far. We look forward to covering some great films in 2018, and not just the big tentpole movies like Black Panther, Infinity War, etc…, but some excellent smaller films as well.

Happy New Year, everyone, and we’ll see you in 2018!
