Back in 2013, (Academy Award-winning) Director Guillermo Del Toro brought forth upon cinematic screens the triumphant return of the Giant Robots Battle Giant Monsters movie with
Pacific Rim.
Now, five years later, we finally have the sequel to Guillermo’s visionary film in theaters,
Pacific Rim: Uprising
Unfortunately, Guillermo is neither the writer nor director this time out, relegating himself to the role of producer.
But, since this is his universe, can we hope Guillermo was able to steer new director Steven S. DeKnight and help recapture the joy that was the original?
Starring John Boyega, Scott Eastwood, Charlie Day, Burn Gorman, and Cailee Spaeny, it’s a whole new adventure, ten movie years later.
